Effect of Urinary Tract Infection on Premature Birth: A Meta Analysis

Bakground: Neonatal mortality in the world is mostly caused by premature birth (43%), and Indonesia biggest cause of neonatal death (45%). One causes pregnant women experiencing labor, namely urinary tract infections due to changes system during pregnancy. This study aims analyze primary effect on preterm delivery with a meta-analysis. Subjects Method: meta-analysis following PICO, population: women. Intervention: Having infection. Comparison: No Outcome: Premature delivery. The articles used this were obtained from three databases, Google Scholar, Pubmed, Science Direct. Keywords search for (“urinary infection” AND “preterm labor” OR “premature birth” labor”). included article full text English case-control design 2006 2022 reports adjusted odds ratio multivariate analysis. selection done using PRISMA flow diagram. Articles analyzed Review Manager 5.3 aplikasi application. Results: A total 10 studies Iran, Iraq, India, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Peru selected data collected showed that increased occurrence labor 2.19 times compared who did not experience (aOR= 2.19; 95% CI= 1.80 2.66; p<0.001).
